Step-Up
Gluteus maximus · quads
A simple, scalable single-leg move. A higher box and a slight forward lean shift the work to your glutes.
Set up
- Place one whole foot on a stable box, bench or stair (knee-height or a little below).
How to do it
- 1Lean forward slightly and drive through the heel on the box.
- 2Stand all the way up, squeezing the glute — don't push off the back foot.
- 3Lower slowly back to the floor with the same leg.
Form cues
- Whole foot on the box
- Lead heel does the work
- Slow on the way down
Common mistakes
- Bouncing off the floor leg
- Knee caving in
